It is a small coral island that is unusual because it is a small port located inside the lagoon on the island of Ikitake. Ikitake is 19 km from the main island Hao. It receives no supply shipments and has no airport. Everyone must travel to Hao for supplies, which is a 2 hour boat ride away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our arrival was the fourth time ever the island has received a ship. It was an amazing experience. The 18 year old mayor greeted us. The 23 families on the island prepared a Polynesian banquet supplemented by the ship. Unfortunately, not the best.
